Explosions

Aim - To compare the total momentum before and after an explosion

          Instructions
  • Note the masses of the two vehicles
  • Allow the two trolleys to explode apart (click release trolleys)
  • Note the velocity of the two trolleys after the collision
  • Calculate the total momentum  after the collision (remember that momentum is a vector quantity)
  • Repeat the experiment for different masses of trolleys
  • Use an appropriate format to compare the total momentum before and after the collision
