Impulse

Aim - To calculate the average force exerted by a club on a golf ball

          Instructions
  • Note the mass and diameter of the golf ball
  • Release the club to strike the ball
  • Note the time of contact, t, between the club and the ball
  • Note the time taken for the ball to pass through the light beam
  • Calculate the velocity, v, of the ball after being struck by the club
  • Use the equation Ft = mv - mu to calculate the average force exerted on the ball
