Laser beam diameter

Aim - To measure the beam diameter at various distances from a laser.     Instructions 
  • Switch on the laser by clicking on the key at the rear of the laser.
  • Click on the button to observe the screen.
  • Estimate the diameter of the beam at the position where the laser beam strikes the screen.
  • Repeat this measurement as the screen is moved back.
  • The power of the laser is 0.1 mW. Calculate the intensity of the laser beam at the distances measured.
